Shady Boy

This little boy was tugging at palm fronds at Montague bay. I thought Shady Boy would be a good name for this painting, until he noticed me taking his picture and flashed me the most brilliant smile.

Tanker

 I really wish I liked abstract art more; but this is as close as I'll ever get. I've tried. Honest. I appreciate all the movements, all the expressionists and surrealists and fauvists (all the "-ists"), and I get what they were doing, but I'm more of a Sargent girl than a Kandinsky.
Having said that, I love Rothko's colour combos, so maybe there's hope for me.

I saw this tanker in the harbour near the cruise ships and I think my heart skipped a beat seeing the once brilliant red and blue with rust spots next to our ridiculously blue green water.

Montague fish market at the end of the day. I think it had just rained; I just liked the sky and this happened to be in the foreground. This solo guy was putting a fish in a bucket or cooler.

Stingray Killer

This is the first painting.
 I want to call it Stingray Killer because thats what the guy in the boat told me he was doing after I took this photo; killing stingrays. He said that they eat all his conch, and after he missed the eagle ray a few times, he put down his spear, and paddled over to the western side of Potter's Cay. I've never heard of stingrays eating conch. If I were traditional, I'd call it "Morning at Potter's Cay" or "Man in Boat with Conch".
Stingray Killer it is then.


Oh. I've just been informed that stingrays do eat conch. Maybe I should just call this painting Conch Lover.
